Signature
Written once, added on the way out.

The name, role and logo under your message, saved on each address you send from and copied to the others when they should match.

In short

What is an email signature?

An email signature is the few lines at the foot of a message that say who sent it: a name, a title, often a logo. No mail standard adds one, so the app that sends the message does.

How it works

Added where the sends meet

The composer, the assistant and a scheduled send all pass one point on the way out, and that is where the signature goes on.

Above the quoted message, not under

On a reply or a forward the composer marks where your words end, and the sign-off goes there, not under the quoted thread.

Several per address, one per message

Each address keeps a list of signatures, with a default for new mail and another for replies. The composer switches between them, and Apply to other addresses copies one to the addresses you tick.

What survives a save

Saving cleans the HTML, so the preview is what the recipient gets.

What you get

In the product today

Follows the From field

Change the address you send from and the signature swaps with it.

Kept through the queue

Remove it from a scheduled message and it still goes out unsigned.

The logo travels along

An uploaded logo goes inside the message instead of being fetched from a link.

Good practice

Getting the most out of it

  1. 01

    Keep it three lines

A name, a role and one link beat a block nobody reads under every reply.

  2. 02

    Upload logos twice as wide

Upload it at double the width you set, so it stays sharp on high-density screens.

  3. 03

    Sign as the team

Everybody sending from billing@ signs with its signature, so write it for the team.

Works well with

Per-address email settings

Each address carries its own signature, footer and tracking. The catch-all covers what it catches, and one address’s choice copies to the rest in one step. Remote images and the blocklist can be set per address or per domain too.

Send as any alias

Reply from the exact address the mail arrived on.

Scheduled send

Write it now, land it when they are awake.
