Draft from a note

Give it the gist and get the whole body back, in the first person as you.

Details

  • It reads the thread you are replying to, so the draft answers what was actually asked.
  • A bar under the body takes a description: say what the message should do and press Enter, or press Draft with AI in the toolbar, and it is written straight into the body in the first person as you. With text already there, the bar edits it instead: say what should change. On a new message it writes the subject too, and Draft with AI on a reply with nothing typed writes the reply from the conversation alone.
  • It can set the composer’s options as well as the words: the recipients, Cc and Bcc, when it sends, open and click tracking, the signature, the language it is sent in, the From address and encryption. A recipient is only ever one already in the message, typed in your request or found in the conversation, so it never invents an address. Each change shows as a chip under the bar, and Undo puts everything back.
  • It reads the last eight messages of the conversation, writes in your style, and can look a fact up on the web when your request needs one. Nothing is sent: you still press Send.
  • Each run spends one AI action, and each web search one more. The workspace owner can press Open in chat to carry on with the draft in a conversation with the assistant.
  • The same writing is on the REST API as POST /emails/compose, on the SDK as emails.compose, on the command line as nextmail emails compose and on the MCP server as composeEmail.
